Seven-year-old Quinn Gerlach is the unlikely person behind a kidney donation system that’s saved nearly 70 lives. Quinn was born with only one kidney and required a kidney donor. So his grandfather, Howard Broadman, came up with the idea of a kidney donor voucher system: He’d give his own kidney to somebody else and get a voucher to give to Quinn. The system is now being used by 30 transplant centers across the U.S.
